Is THC legal in Lithuania?

Situación formal

Possession of a small quantity is a criminal misdemeanour in Lithuania rather than an administrative matter, with use alone punished separately by a fine, and the small-quantity line for plant material is five grams. Growing is caught as possession. A decriminalisation reform was approved in principle in 2021 but rejected in 2022. Medical cannabis has been legal since 2019 but no product ever reached pharmacies. Supplements face a cap of 2mg of THC per kilogram.

Not at the moment.

No, we do not ship to Lithuania, and this is the page that explains why.

Every European country limits how much THC a hemp product may contain, and our full-spectrum extract is tested against those limits and published. Lithuania is the exception that we cannot meet. Since April 2023 it has capped THC in hemp food supplements at 2 milligrams per kilogram of finished product, which is around a thousand times tighter than the threshold most of the EU works to.

That is not a rule a manufacturer can test their way past: a full-spectrum extract contains what the plant contains.

So we do not sell there. If Lithuania revises the figure, or if we ever offer a formulation that meets it, we will say so.

Perspectivas

The 2 milligram per kilogram figure has stood unamended since it took effect and there is no published proposal to change it. The Law on Fibre Hemp around it, by contrast, has been amended four times in fourteen months, so the framework is more volatile than the number.

The practical gap worth watching is guidance. Neither the food and veterinary service nor the drug control department has published any explanation of how the supplement figure is measured or applied, and the food agency's own hemp page cites the EU contaminant levels for hemp seed and hemp seed oil instead. No Lithuanian product withdrawal on the public record is attributable to this figure. A first enforcement case would tell us a great deal about how seriously it is taken.
